Description

The SmiLab-RTK navigation receiver is fully analogous to the Nav-Agro RTK but comes with an external RF antenna and a 5-meter cable. This design offers the following advantages: the main electronic equipment can be placed inside the vehicle's cabin or indoors, while only the RF antenna needs to be mounted outside (up to 5 meters away).

Electrical circuit of the device RTK electrical circuit

Depending on the software settings, it can work either as an RTK Rover or an RTK Base Station

Mode 1 - RTK Rover, a mobile navigation receiver, determines coordinates with meter-level accuracy in standalone mode using free satellite navigation signals. In RTK mode, it uses correction data from an RTK base station to achieve centimeter-level precision.

Mode 2 - RTK Base Station, a stationary navigation receiver, generates RTK (RTCM) correction data and transmits it to RTK rovers.

It is possible to use almost any Android tablet or phone for setting up and navigating with the SmiLab-RTK receiver, using Bluetooth for data transmission. Additionally, it can interface with navigation programs on a PC via RS232.

HOW IT WORKS

The operation of the RTK Rover, which is used for RTK navigation, is based on receiving GNSS satellite navigation signals. In standalone mode, the RTK Rover immediately acquires GNSS satellite signals after being powered on and determines its current coordinates with meter-level accuracy.

In RTK mode, the RTK Rover receives correction data (RTK-RTCM corrections) from the RTK Base either via the internet (option 1) or over a LoRa radio channel (option 2), refining its coordinates to centimeter-level accuracy.

Technical Specifications

Supported signals - GPS L1 C/A, L2C; Galileo E1 B/C, E5b; BeiDou B1I, B2I. Total number of tracking channels from satellites – 184.

Data interfaces (NMEA,RTCM) - two Bluetooth channels (NMEA01, RTCM_Conf01), RS232, and LoRa.

Navigation parameters accuracy
Root mean square deviation of current navigation parameters determination, not exceeding:
- Planar coordinates in standalone mode, m 1.5;
- Altitude in standalone mode, m 2.0;
- Planar coordinates in RTK mode, m 0.02 m + 0.001m*L;
- Altitude in RTK mode, m 0.03 m + 0.001m*L,
where L is the distance to the base station, km.
Navigation parameters determination in RTK mode is ensured when correction data is available according to RTCM v3 standard.
Time characteristics
First fix acquisition time for coordinates, time, and altitude in standalone mode – no more than 60 seconds.
Coordinate, time, and altitude fix time in RTK mode, with a fix already available in standalone mode and after receiving correction data according to RTCM standard – no more than 180 seconds.

Update rate of navigation parameters

The update rate of navigation parameters in RTK mode using GPS+ Galileo+ BeiDou signals is up to 10 Hz.

Note: The specified accuracy and time characteristics of navigation parameter determination are ensured under normal GNSS operation, with HDOP values not exceeding 2, shadowing of the rover by surrounding objects not exceeding 5° above the horizon, and within a distance of no more than 25 km from the base station (for RTK mode).

Power Supply

The receiver is powered by an external DC source with a voltage of 8 to 16 V. The power consumption in RTK rover or RTK Base mode is no more than 2.5 W (if LoRa is not used). The power consumption of the RTK base station when operating via LoRa is no more than 6.0 W.

Environmental Impact, Weight, Dimensions

Operating temperature range: from -20 to 70 °C.

Weight (receiver + cable), no more than 0.8 kg (0.55 kg + 0.25 kg).

Weight of the receiver board, no more than 0.25 kg.

Dimensions: Ø152×108 mm.
